Sigma News: Daryl A. Anderson, Sr. Selected International Executive Director for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity

Washington, D.C. – Daryl Anthony Anderson, Sr. of Cordova, TN., has been selected as the International Executive Director of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. His recommendation was approved by the General Board on Monday, December 12th, 2011. He is the sixth person to serve as the chief executive officer in the history of the Fraternity. Anderson is a member of Phi Beta Sigma, having been initiated in 1979 through Delta Nu Chapter in Memphis State University (now known as the University of Memphis).

More than 250 attend vigil at U of I for shooting victims

URBANA — More than 250 people turned out at the University of Illinois Quad on Monday night for a candlelight prayer vigil for those affected by the weekend shootings. Friends and fellow members of Phi Beta Sigma asked the crowd to pray for UI alumnus Brian Reed, who was critically injured after being shot at a house party early Sunday in Urbana.

On 11/13/2011 in the early morning hours three members of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign family-two alumni and one current student-were shot at a private house party near campus. Response Team members from the Counseling Center will be available for students impacted by the shooting incident at the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC) at 7:00 p.m.
